Explore our vacancies Call for Proposals: Sub-Grants to Strengthen Scaling of Teacher Professional Development on Gender-Responsive Pedagogy VVOB - education for development , through the Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa (RTIA) , invites education organisations to apply for sub-grants to strengthen and scale their existing Teacher Professional Development (TPD) initiatives focused on addressing Gender-Responsive Pedagogy (GRP) at early childhood and/or lower secondary levels of learning.
This Call for Proposals seeks to support organisations to move beyond pilot-stage implementation by strengthening the scalability of GRP focused TPD initiatives – specifically those that address gender norms as a root driver of inequality in education. It focuses on addressing critical, high-leverage constraints that hinder their sustainable expansion within education systems.
Specifically, it seeks to: Support organisations to overcome key constraints by strengthening the evidence base, stakeholder alignment, and operational capacity required to sustainably expand transformative GRP-focused TPD programmes that address gender norms at scale, and to position them for adoption within education systems.
Generate and disseminate practical insights on what works in scaling TPD for gender norms transformation, contributing to broader evidence base and community of practice across Sub-Saharan Africa. Within this Call, applicants are expected to propose focused, practical interventions that address a clearly defined constraint limiting their programme’s ability to scale, as part of a broader scaling strategy .
Proposed activities must be proportionate to the available funding (up to EUR 40,000) and the implementation period (up to 12 months) and should demonstrate how addressing the selected constraint will significantly advance the programme’s pathway to scale.
Deadline for submissions: 29 May 2026 Evaluation of proposals and notification of results: June 2026 Start of implementation: July 2026 Applicants must submit a complete proposal in English or French, following the structure provided in Annex A (Proposal Application Template). Proposals should be submitted in a digital format to infokenya@vvob. org by 29 May 2026.
