Grassroots Youth Sports Funding is a grant from the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation that funds youth sports and recreation programs in communities across the North Shore of Massachusetts. Awards range from $1,000 to $30,000 and support organizations serving towns including Amesbury, Beverly, Gloucester, Newburyport, Salem, and surrounding communities. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations.

The Grants Committee meets quarterly in March, June, September, and December, with application deadlines on the first Friday of those months. Applications must be submitted online through the GrantsConnect portal.

Through the Grants Committee, the Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation awards funds to organizations in Amesbury, Beverly, Boxford, Byfield, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Ipswich, Middleton, Newburyport, Newbury, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Salisbury, Topsfield, Wenham, West Newbury and the surrounding communities designated as charities under IRS section 501(c)(3).

The Grants Committee meets on the third Monday of March, June, September, and December. Application deadlines are the first Friday in March, June, September, and December. If your request is time-sensitive and you require a response by a certain date, please be aware of these deadlines and submit your applications in advance of the meeting prior to the date you need a response.

Applying to our Foundation We have an online process for applying for Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation grants. This process, called GrantsConnect , should be used for all funding requests, including event sponsorships, capital campaigns, programs and operational support. Paper applications and/or email requests for funding greater than $500 will not be accepted.

If you already have a GrantsConnect account: click on the link and then enter your username and password. A verification code will be emailed to you; enter the code and then log in to begin your application. Click on Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation Financial Request Application, choose Grant Type and proceed to answer all questions completely (using the NEXT option until you are ready to submit your application).

Once you have completed all sections pertaining to your request, select SUBMIT. You will receive a confirmation email when your application is successfully submitted. If your application is incomplete, you will receive an email asking you to update and resubmit your application.
