The mission of the Gratis Foundation is to support programs in the fields of education, health care and medical research, humanitarian services, abused and neglected children, and assisting U.S. Military personnel and their families. It is the intent of the foundation to award grants based on achievement, excellence, significance, or leadership in a specific field or charitable endeavor.

It is the intent of the foundation to award grants based on achievement, excellence, significance, or leadership in a specific field or charitable endeavor. To be eligible, organizations must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The foundation does not accept requests for grants that would be payable to, or for the benefit of, specific individuals.
Annual application period and deadlines Applications must be submitted by January 31 for the Spring grant meeting, May 31 for the Summer grant meeting, and September 30 for the Fall grant meeting. Applicants will receive an automated email confirming their submission. Grant decisions are generally communicated within 90 to 120 days of each application deadline.
Periodic progress reports and final reports are required for funded projects. The Gratis Foundation was established in 2008.
