Green Cost Share - City of Minneapolis We help pay for property upgrades that improve the environment and save money. Apply for funds. Get funding for residential projects See how our partners can help you get funding for your residential energy efficiency project.
Apply for commercial or industrial grants Apply for a Green Cost Share grant for your project on a commercial, industrial or multifamily property. We offer funding to make many types of buildings more energy efficient. We offer funding to add solar to many types of properties.
Innovative pollution reduction You can apply for up to $175,000 in funds to reduce air pollution. You can apply for up to $50,000 in funds for vehicle repairs that reduce pollution. We explain how to work with the City to accept and use Green Cost Share funds.
We fund projects that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emission from: Our program provides funding to residents, businesses, and property owners to: Reduce energy use through efficiency Limit the release of harmful air pollutants Green Cost Share priorities We give more funding and higher priority to projects in communities who are most impacted by the effects of climate change and air pollution.
These communities include: Low-income serving non-profits Residents with low incomes How the community benefits Healthier and more comfortable buildings for people who live or work in or near your property Fewer carbon emissions into our environment More appealing businesses and neighborhoods lead to economic growth See stories from our past customers How property owners benefit More energy-efficient buildings Lower energy costs year after year How our City initiatives benefit At least 40% of our funds go to projects in disadvantaged communities The projects we fund help advance our Climate Action Plan Creating a climate legacy Green Cost Share dashboard View a summary, climate impacts, energy impacts and benefits to those most in need.
