Greener Together Program

Greener Together Program is sponsored by Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). This program provides grant funding to nonprofit organizations in OPPD's 13-county service territory for projects involving renewable energy, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, community resiliency and betterment, and/or education.

Support initiatives that help your community bloom. OPPD’s Greener Together Program connects community members and supports green initiatives. As part of the program, you contribute monthly, and all funds collected go toward selecting and supporting green projects to positively impact our community.

You can make a difference. It’s a program with the power to spark many diverse initiatives like bike paths, composting, tree planting and public park solar projects — and you can be an integral part of the effort for as little as $4. 50 a month .

If you represent a non-profit, non-profit educational institution, cultural enrichment organization or health and human services organization, you can submit projects to be funded through the Greener Together Program.

We’ve streamlined our application process in partnership with United Way of the Midlands. Informational meetings occur in June, and the application process begins in July. Email us to be notified when the application period opens next.

Important project application details: Projects must fall under at least one of the following categories: Renewable Energy, Environmental Sustainability or Energy Efficiency. Funding requests must fall within a $10,000–$100,000 funding range. Make sure to read the requirements prior to beginning the application process.

Organizations that were funded in past cycles remain eligible for future funding. In addition to meeting program requirements, projects are also evaluated on their overall impact on the community and their contribution to community betterment. How often will you have new projects?

The number of projects we fund is determined by the contributions the program receives each month. Currently, the Greener Together Program has one project funding application period in the summer. Who are the members of the Greener Together Project Review Committee, and can I join?

The Greener Together Project Review Committee members are OPPD employees and/or customers in the OPPD service territory. If you’re interested in joining the committee, find more details here . Who can submit Greener Together projects?

If you represent a non-profit, non-profit educational institution, cultural enrichment organization or health and human services organization, you can submit projects to be funded through the Greener Together Program. If you don’t fit these requirements, you can still submit suggestions by emailing greenertogether@oppd. com .

Where can I receive updates about Greener Together projects? You’ll get regular updates about ongoing and upcoming projects through email communications. What is included in the 10% administrative costs that may be used by OPPD?
