Griffith Family Charitable Foundation is launching the "The Griffith Foundation Jumpstart Scholarship" for Neodesha High School students. Since 1990, the foundation has given out nearly $2 million in scholarships through its Neodesha Promise Scholarship and the Neodesha Alumni Scholarship Fund. Beginning this school year, the new Jumpstart scholarship will provide up to $6,000 for resources students need throughout the school year.

This money will cover tuition, textbooks, and supplies for dual-credit, including college courses, career training and technical education. "The Promise program covers a lot of the kids, you know, with a big chunk of their tuition and their mandatory fees that are going on. And the alumni association offers filler, fill in with additional funds to help pay for other things like books and living expenses, and so forth.

And the biggest gap that we saw was that there was no funding available for the kids who wanted to start early. And that's what this program does," said Dennis Depew, Neodesha Griffith Family Charitable Foundation Secretary-Treasurer. The scholarship program goes into effect in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
