Grotta Fund for Older Adults Advocating for Aging Issues Lifelong Strong New Jersey is an advocacy campaign to prioritize policies that ensure New Jerseyans can thrive in the Garden State as we age. Partnering with Parker Life, The Henry & Marilyn Taub Foundation, NJ Future, Rutgers Hub for Aging Collaboration, Fair Share Housing, and NJ Advocates for Aging Well (NJAAW).
Promoting Age-Friendly Community Development Spurring age-friendly policies, services, systems, and products that enhance residents' physical, social and mental health throughout their lives. Partnering with the Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation, Rutgers University, NJAAW, and AARP-NJ.
Grotta has awarded more than $7 million in grants to 75 agencies, hospitals, universities, and municipalities to benefiting older adults, their families, and their communities from 2003 to present. Grotta aims to meet the needs of all older adults, to enrich their lives and age well in their homes and communities.
Supporting advancements in care delivery and reducing readmissions Grotta is committed to advancing seamless care transitions and expanding community care coalitions to improve health care for older individuals in New Jersey. Geriatric assessments and home-based services Grotta supports new models of care delivery and home-based services, geriatric assessments and counseling to promote safe and independent aging in homes and community.
Promoting socialization and community engagement Grotta aims to enhance mental health, friendships, life skills and independence, to live life fully and independently. Adler Aphasia Center, West Orange, NJ Addressing Housing Issues Grotta supports new housing options such as home sharing and new Assisted Living Programs (ALP), as well as counseling and case management, all aimed at preventing homelessness among older adults.

Morris County home post-Sandy The Grotta Fund for Older Adults is a philanthropic fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ. Grotta recognizes that people are living longer and generally healthier lives.
With demographic shifts toward a larger population of individuals 65 and older, Grotta recognizes the urgency to prioritize aging issues, deepen vibrancy and inclusiveness in our towns, expand housing choices, and maximize opportunities for independence and well being. Our focus is in Essex, Morris, Union, Sussex, and eastern parts of Somerset counties.
Grant applications are solicited through an announced RFP or invitation-only basis, limited to 501c3 organizations, religious institutions, and municipalities. In addition to making grants, the Fund takes pride in strengthening organizational capacity, fostering collaborations, and promoting collective impact among its grantees. We participate in funder collaboratives, to amplify impact and learning.
