Press enter to begin your search Creating strong educational foundation for life In this area, we focus our grantmaking on programs and initiatives closely aligned to our work in Prospering Communities – work that improves the education system in order to provide all students and families with a strong foundation for life-long learning and success as a way to increase economic opportunities for individuals and families.
Increasing access from cradle to career is the focus of our grantmaking in this area. We specifically seek to eliminate disparities in education outcomes that are based on race or zip code. All students have access to sustainable, quality pre-K programs in Greater KC.
Public schools meet or exceed state standards and have effective teachers and leaders. All students are prepared to access and persist in post-secondary programs and pursue careers of their choice. Education Awareness & Engagement Grantmaking supports initiatives that enable favorable conditions for education, increase equity in funding, and prepare talent pipelines.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students. The grant supports the purchase of robotics equipment and program development aligned with AMSTI guidelines. Applications are submitted online through the AMSTI Robotics Grant portal. The Fiscal Year 2026 application deadline was September 30, 2025. Questions should be directed to robotics@amsti.org. The program is managed by the Alabama State Department of Education under State Superintendent Eric G. Mackey.
