WEDnetPA - PA Department of Community & Economic Development WEDnetPA, created by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), helps eligible Pennsylvania companies grow by providing funding to train and upskill their existing employees – boosting retention, workforce talent and business competitiveness.
Through a statewide network of colleges, universities, and education partners that assist companies with the application and approval process, the program supports training for eligible companies in manufacturing, life sciences, agriculture, energy, and robotics & technology. Funding can be used for a wide range of incumbent worker training. The training must be skill-building for employee’s current job or for an advancement or promotion. Must be a resident of Pennsylvania and employed at the location receiving the grant Must earn at least $17.
31 per hour Must be permanently employed and eligible for full-time benefits – including eligible for healthcare benefits Must be legally eligible to work in the United States An individual employee can qualify for up to $2,000 in job skills training. Company participation is limited to two years in a row and three out of the past five years. Training must occur from July 1 to June 30 of the fiscal year of the funding award.
