Virginia Health Care FoundationHow to Apply - Virginia Health Care Foundation Virginia Health Care Foundation Organizations that have met the Grant Eligibility requirements can apply for the Health Access grants using the following procedure. Virginia Health Care Foundation grants for Expanding Access to Primary Care are awarded in two cycles each year, in the spring and fall.
Upcoming 2026 deadlines for funding consideration are: January 12, 2026: Concept papers due via email by 5 pm. January 28, 2026: VHCF invites submission of full proposals based on concept papers. March 3, 2026: Formal proposals due to the VHCF office by 5 pm.
June 30, 2026: Grant awards announced by the Foundation Board. Please do not submit a Concept Paper without first carefully reviewing VHCF’s requirements to determine if your organization and project are eligible for consideration. Step One : Determine if your organization and the project you’re proposing meet general eligibility requirements , and review the VHCF Grant Guidelines .
Step Two : If your organization and project meet the general eligibility requirements for a VHCF grant, you will need to submit a Concept Paper . Submissions should be emailed to: Kari Parkhurst at kari@vhcf. org .
Step Three : If VHCF invites your organization to develop your concept further, you will need to submit a Formal Proposal . (Note: please do not submit a formal proposal if your organization has not been invited to do so.)
