Healthcare Collaborative Grant Renewal of this grant opportunity is being considered by THA and TCWD leadership. This grant will provide funding to support health systems and academic institutions in the development of innovative programs to enhance partnerships and strengthen the healthcare workforce.

Funding from this initiative will provide the resources to create trailblazing programs that will make a difference in the healthcare workforce pipeline.
Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) hosted 16 hospital and academic collaborative meetings across Tennessee in 2023 and 2024, and participants discussed examples of high-need training interventions between potential partners that improve clinical training and the student placement experience.
The immediate goals of this funding opportunity are to address the obstacles in the clinical training environment by expanding the availability of clinical placements and/or increasing the number of clinical faculty.
Some of the program examples that health systems and colleges discussed implementing that this award intends to fulfill include: Expansion of clinical faculty training programs, Increasing shared staffing between employers and educators, Creating innovative models of student placement, and Implementing healthcare apprenticeship programs. This project is funded through a grant by the State of Tennessee.
