The Healthcare Training Program - MassHire North Shore Career Center The Healthcare Training Program The Healthcare Training Program No Cost Training and Job Opportunities The MASSHIRE North Shore Workforce Board was awarded over $2. 4 million to provide training in healthcare occupations to unemployed, underemployed, and incumbent workers at partner employer organizations.
Developing trainees in these vocations will help create solutions to healthcare staffing challenges and shortages across the Northeast Region of MA as well as creating a career pathway for healthcare professionals.
This three-year grant, awarded by the Commonwealth Corporation, offers qualified individuals training in rewarding careers as Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Radiology Technician Surgical Technician, Central Sterile Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, Dental Assistant and Emergency Medical Technician. These credit and non-credit programs vary in length from 90 hours to 2 years.
Most consist of hands-on, classroom training. Successful completion will lead to accreditation in these disciplines and job placement assistance.
The Training Program Includes: Healthcare Career Pathways Human Services Career Pathways Healthcare Career Pathway Opportunities The Human Services Pathway offers career training opportunities that empower others and enhance your professional and personal growth Associate degree and certificate programs led by dedicated instructors who are experts in their fields prepare you to work with youth, elderly persons, people with disabilities, and in the mental health and recovery fields.
Community Health Workers work in clinic and community-based settings providing individual, familial and community outreach, health education, informal counseling, social support, direct care coordination, advocacy and case management for service and referrals that establish and promote individual and community self-sufficiency and health capacity.
Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation associate degree program provides comprehensive, experiential education in the field of addiction and human services. Take advantage of specific coursework leading to employment in comprehensive addiction treatment settings, mental health programs, hospitals, prevention programs, health care, and other social service facilities.
The Healthcare Grant covers three Massachusetts Regions, including the North Shore, Merrimack Valley, and Greater Lowell. These credit and non-credit programs vary in length from 90 hours to 2 years. Please contact your local MASSHIRE Career Center for the schedule of training programs.
