Patients - HealthWell Foundation Are you a patient struggling to afford the cost of medical treatments? When health insurance is not enough, we’re here to help — with copays, premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses for supplies, supplements, surgeries and more. We offer financial assistance through a number of Disease Funds , with new funds opening every year, so you can get the care you need.
Find out if you’re eligible for assistance. Find out whether HealthWell has a Disease Fund that covers your illness and whether your medication is an eligible treatment for that illness. Do you have some form of health insurance?
To qualify for assistance, you must have some form of health insurance — such as private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or Tricare — that covers part of the cost of your treatment. Is your medication listed as an eligible treatment? To be eligible for coverage, medications must be listed under the Disease Fund associated with the patient grant.
Find out if your medication is covered by using the Medication Lookup tool below. Does your income fall within our guidelines? To determine eligibility, HealthWell considers your household income, the number in your household and the cost of living in your city or state.
We assist individuals with household incomes up to 300 to 500 percent of the federal poverty level. Check your income level here . Are you receiving treatment in the United States?
HealthWell can only assist individuals who are receiving treatment in the United States. HealthWell helps with treatment for a variety of diseases and is currently accepting applications for grants from our Open Funds. We are always expanding our programs.
Please be sure to check back if your disease is not currently listed among our Open Funds or submit a request for a new Disease Fund . To find out whether your medication is covered by HealthWell and for what specific diseases, please type the medication name below. Medication or Diagnosis/Code Submit To find out if your medication or diagnosis is covered by HealthWell, and under which specific Disease Fund, please enter a medication name, disease name, or diagnosis code. Any matching Disease Fund(s) will be displayed. Before you begin, be sure to contact the company that makes your medication.
Manufacturers have generous assistance programs that often exceed what most non-profit foundations can offer, particularly for commercially insured patients. LEARN MORE Here’s what you’ll need to complete the application: Patient contact information and insurance information. Prescriber information: first and last name of your prescriber.
If you are applying/re-applying for a grant and are currently enrolled in HealthWell’s Patient Portal, you will need to search the NPPES database using the first and last name of the prescriber. The disease and treatment for which you’re applying. The type of assistance you’re looking for — copay or premium.
If you’re a patient or family member and you’re ready to apply, you have two options: Apply by calling (800) 675-8416 , Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (EST) If you are a health care provider’s office, a pharmacy representative or a social worker applying on behalf of your patient, you must use the PHARMACY PORTAL or PROVIDER PORTAL to complete and submit your application.
HealthWell reserves the right to change its program in its entirety or with respect to any applicant at any time with or without notice. HealthWell does not restrict the provider or pharmacy a patient selects. Patients are free to change medications, providers or pharmacies at any time.
As long as the eligibility criteria continues to be met, the status of their grant will not change. How HealthWell Grants Work Once you’re approved for a grant from one of our Disease Funds, you receive assistance for a rolling 12 months, after which you can reapply if needed and if funding is available. Upon approval, you’ll receive both a HealthWell Pharmacy Card and a Reimbursement Request Form for times when you need it.
We strive to keep the reimbursement process as simple as possible. We know that when you’re struggling with an illness, you need all the help you can get. NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Projects must demonstrate the potential to make a meaningful difference in the community and stand apart from conventional approaches. Eligible applicants are Arizona-based nonprofit organizations. Awards total $100,000 per recipient over two years. The 2026 application cycle closed October 16, 2025, with recipients notified in late 2025 and funding made available shortly after.
