Scholarships for Graduates and PhD students | Heinrich Böll Stiftung Tailwind for Talents: Scholarships for Graduates and PhD students In our effort to foster equal opportunities and equitable access to education, we support graduate students and PhD students from DAC countries who intend to pursue a Master's degree or PhD in Germany.

Our next application deadlines: Fall 2026: 15 July 2026 until 1 September 2026 Spring 2027: 15 January 2027 until 1 March 2027 International students who have completed their first degree abroad can apply prior to starting a Master's degree program in Germany.
Priority is given to applicants from DAC countries who have not yet taken up residence in Germany at the time of their application. International PhD students who have completed their graduate degree abroad may apply for a PhD program in Germany.
