Innovation Fund | Henry Ford + MSU | Michigan State University Henry Ford + MSU > Innovation Hub > Innovation Fund The Henry Ford Health + MSU Innovation Fund invests in early-stage health care companies that are poised to transform patient care, accelerate access to innovations and deliver measurable impact.
Our fund combines capital investment with deep health care expertise, access to clinical and research environments and connections to a powerful innovation ecosystem anchored by Henry Ford Health, Michigan State University, and the MSU Research Foundation.
Where innovation meets opportunity We invest in early-stage healthcare companies that are innovating in high-growth sectors aligned with the strengths of the Henry Ford + MSU partnership, including: Diagnostics & Life Science Tools and Precision Medicine – including genomic testing, biomarker discovery and personalized treatment platforms Health Care IT, Digital Health and AI – encompassing health care software, virtual care, predictive analytics and AI-enabled clinical decision support Medical Devices and Remote Monitoring – including surgical technologies, wearables, sensors and home-based diagnostics Therapeutics and Advanced Drug Delivery – including novel biologics and digital therapeutics Our typical funding parameters are: Average first check size: $250,000 to $400,000 Stage: Pre-seed through Series A Instruments: SAFEs, Convertible Notes or Preferred Stock Financings Follow-On Investment: Considered for high-performing portfolio companies To qualify for funding, companies must: Be incorporated in Delaware or Michigan as a for-profit C-Corp Be less than five years old Have a connection to Henry Ford Health, Michigan State University, or the MSU Research Foundation (at time of investment or as a direct result of investment) We accept applications on a rolling basis.
