Hero Fund America First Responders Grant Round

Hero Fund America First Responders Grant Round is sponsored by Hero Fund America (through the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties). This fund provides grants to benefit the education, training, lifesaving equipment, and mental health needs of fire, emergency medical services (EMS), and law enforcement agencies.

Hero Fund America Fund | Community Foundation The HFA Fund was created in 2016 and now provides grants to EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement Agencies supporting education, training, lifesaving equipment, and mental health needs. Hero Fund America continues to present its annual fundraising event, the Hero Fund America Tour for First Responders. The Run 4 the Hills for First Responders annual road race retired in 2023, lasting 10 years.

The Hero Fund America Fund was created in partnership with Hero Fund America . The fund provides grants to benefit the education, training, life-saving equipment and mental health needs of first responders.

The 2026 First Responders Grant Round invited eligible first responder organizations to apply for up to $1,500 in funding for projects and programs that support the education, training, lifesaving equipment and/or mental health needs of first responders.

The following types of organizations from across the United States were eligible to apply: Volunteer fire departments Volunteer emergency medical service (EMS) agencies Paid law enforcement agencies with 25 or less employees Recent award recipients were not eligible to apply for the 2026 First Responders Grant Round unless they received funding prior to January 1, 2023.
