Beyer FAIA AICP President of the BBB Foundation and Founding Partner of Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners Architecture is a complex discipline that extends beyond building design and construction, with careful consideration given to the context of the surrounding landscape, the people who will occupy the building, large-scale environmental issues such as climate change and sustainability.
Through fellowships, grants, and other initiatives, the BBB Foundation engages the full cycle of design, which includes inspiring and supporting young people to enter the profession. Current grant programs include: The BBB Foundation launched its higher education grant program in 2020 with a scholarship grant to Howard University, College of Engineering and Architecture.
Our grant support has continued, and to further increase professional mobility, the program also includes a paid summer internship at the firm of Beyer Blinder Belle. Previous grant recipients include Dean Bailey, Khadija Callender, and Jemima Pierre. Link to Howard University Department of Architecture In 2021, the BBB Foundation expanded it’s higher education program with an annual grant to The University of the District of Columbia.
Scholarship recipients are students entering their third or fourth year of an undergraduate architecture program or any year of a master’s degree program. Link to the UDC Department of Architcture & Community Planning The BBB Foundation provides a scholarship to The Foundation for City College for the Spitzer School to support students who demonstrate both exceptional ability and financial need.
Financial assistance toward tuition and living expenses is integral to fostering a diversity of talent in the architectural profession, and we’re pleased to partner with the largest public architecture school in New York City. The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students. The grant supports the purchase of robotics equipment and program development aligned with AMSTI guidelines. Applications are submitted online through the AMSTI Robotics Grant portal. The Fiscal Year 2026 application deadline was September 30, 2025. Questions should be directed to robotics@amsti.org.
