Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP) | NIFA The lifecycle of grants and cooperative agreements consists of four phases: Pre-Award, Award, Post-Award, and Close Out. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture is committed to serving its stakeholders, Congress, and the public by using new technologies to advance greater openness.

Technical Assistance Webinar: The Equipment Grants Program (EGP) The Equipment Grants Program seeks to provide eligible institutions with the opportunity to acquire a shared-use piece of equipment/instrument that supports their research, research training, and extension goals. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture provides leadership and funding for programs that advance agriculture-related sciences.
Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP) The Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP) seeks to provide scholarships to support recruiting, engaging, retaining, mentoring, and training committed students, resulting in either baccalaureate degrees within the food and agricultural science disciplines or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D. V. M.)
degrees, that would lead to a highly skilled work force. Prepare graduates to meet the demand for highly qualified personnel entering the workforce related to the food and agricultural sciences Support more undergraduates in transitioning to graduate education; Promote student success within the food and agricultural disciplines at the undergraduate/D. V.
M. level; and Focus on social support structure and professional mentoring to ensure: (a) entry into food and agricultural science areas; (b) completion of graduate education; (c) or a high level of workforce competitiveness in the agriculture science sector.
Only the following are eligible to apply: Colleges and universities with a significant demonstrable commitment to higher education teaching programs in the food and agricultural sciences, or in rural economic, community, and business development, and to each specific subject area for which the grant is to be used and institutes or research foundations maintained by an eligible college or university.
Institutions that have not previously applied are especially encouraged to do so. Applicants must be institutions that confer a bachelor’s or D. V.
M. degree in at least one of the disciplines in the food and agricultural sciences. This program is not open this fiscal year.
