Historic preservation – The Kinsman Foundation Historic preservation has been our principal funding area since our beginning. In 2006 we identified our primary interest in this area as architectural preservation — the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration and reconstruction of historic buildings, structures and related sites.
Most of the projects we fund involve buildings that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places, either individually or as a contributing resource in an historic district. We will continue to consider grants for historic preservation activities other than architectural preservation as a secondary interest. Historic Preservation grants are budgeted for approximately 40% of our total grants.
Applications for Historic Preservation grants over $5,000 must be submitted by August 1st of each year to qualify. These grants are decided in September and are scheduled for distribution in November. Inquiries for grants of less than $5,000 are processed throughout the year, and there is no application deadline.
Small grant applications will generally require 6-8 weeks to review. Milwaukie, Oregon 97267-3938 Email: grants@kinsmanfoundation. org If you already have your password, click here to go directly to your organization’s account:
