Historic Preservation Commission Incentive Program Preservation Grant Incentive Program Preservation Grant The Village of Glen Ellyn and the Village’s Historic Preservation Commission recognize the importance of preserving historic residences.
One hundred fifty years of American homebuilding provide Glen Ellyn with neighborhood charm, architectural heritage and local pride. Preservation programs not only protect historical and architectural assets, but also promote sustainability, community vitality, and a diverse housing stock.
The Village’s Historic Preservation Incentive Program is created to encourage the restoration of architecturally or historically significant properties built at least 50 years prior to the date of application. This pilot program has approved a cost sharing program for homes considered historic or architecturally significant.
Up to $10,000 may be provided for eligible project activities as a 1:1 matching grant upon Historic Preservation Commission review and Village Board approval. Homes must be qualified by the Historic Preservation Commission. In order to be listed on the HPC Incentive Program's Qualified Property List, homeowners must apply for Historic Preservation Commission review.
