Grants - Prince George's County Planning Department The Prince George’s County Planning Department offices at Largo Headquarters are closed to in-person visits due to building construction. The reopening date is not yet known; however, work continues, and development applications will still be accepted electronically. The public can reach divisions and staff via email and phone by checking the Contact Us page for more information .
Historic Property Capital Grant Program The Prince George’s County Historic Property Grant Program (HPGP), in its 18th year, helps fund the rehabilitation, restoration, preservation, or acquisition of historic property.
Capital grants from the program are designed to preserve, protect, and enhance historic properties; encourage others to preserve, protect, and enhance historic properties; and promote interest in and the study of historic properties. The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) administers the grant program on behalf of the Prince George’s County Planning Board.
The FY 2027 Historic Property Grant Program grant round will begin in late July 2026 and will close on Friday, August 28, 2026 . No new applications will be accepted after this deadline. The FY 2027 application forms, instructions, and program guidelines are linked below.

These workshops will walk prospective applicants through the application form and provide them with information on grant program guidelines and processes. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 2:30 p. m.

Registration must be completed at least one business day before the selected workshop. Workshop registration will close at 5:00 p. m.

Other Grants and Grant Programs Historic Preservation Commission’s Non-Capital Grant Program The Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission’s Non-Capital Grant Program (Grant Program) provides grants to support projects that identify, preserve, promote, and protect the historical, cultural, and archeological resources of Prince George’s County for the benefit of the public and to encourage the revitalization of communities.
These grants are intended to help produce and disseminate information, stimulate public discussion about preservation, make technical expertise accessible, and encourage community partnerships. The Grant Program can be used to pay for professional services such as preservation and planning consultants, planning studies, design work, and education.
