HOME Rehabilitation Program | Housing New Mexico MFA Find Housing and Assistance Housing Opportunities for People with HIV/AIDS Make My HomeLoanServ Payment Setup for Autodraft Payments Income, Purchase Price, Acquisition Cost Limits Income and Purchase Price Limits Find an MFA-Participating Lender Housing New Mexico Homeowner Rehabilitation Program Housing New Mexico’s Homeowner Rehabilitation Program provides funding for the rehabilitation and essential improvements of homes occupied by eligible income qualified households.
Rehabilitation work must primarily focus on items needed to bring the home into compliance with program property standards outlined below: Code Compliance Requirements Health & Safety Issues & Substandard Conditions Mechanical System(s) Requirements Resource Efficiency and Healthy Homes Standards Qualified homeowners receive rehabilitation assistance in the form of a zero percent (0%) interest, deferred payment forgivable loan.
After the completion of the rehabilitation, homeowner must maintain ownership for a period up to15 years and is subject to recapture provisions. General eligibility requires that: Household income must not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income adjusted for location and household size. The home must be owned and occupied by the applicant and be their primary residence. The after-rehab value of the home to be rehabilitated must fall within program guidelines.
