Home Office Giving Program

Home Office Giving Program is sponsored by The CarMax Foundation. The CarMax Foundation's Home Office Giving Program supports underserved youth and/or adults in the Greater Richmond, Virginia area (Chesterfield, Goochland, Henrico counties, or the city of Richmond). Funding areas include education & workforce success, health & wellness, and resilient communities.

Transportation access, especially if it relates to workforce development, health appointments, or community stability, could be a relevant project for this program.

## The Home Office Giving Program is designed to make the Greater Richmond, Virginia area a thriving community for families to live and work. Associates in our hometown also support many of these organizations through volunteerism and monetary donations.

#### SUPPORTED RICHMOND NONPROFITS SHOULD: * Support underserved youth and/or adults in the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Henrico, or the city of Richmond * Promote education & workforce success, health & wellness or resilient communities; and * Show a demonstrable need based upon the (a) demand for the program or (b) population served by the program #### THE CARMAX FOUNDATION SUPPORTS PROGRAMS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: EDUCATIONAL & WORKFORCE SUCCESS * Anti-bullying/character development * Career & workforce readiness * Literacy, language arts & ESL * Out-of-school time programs * Quality preschool and childcare * Special needs education * Tools & resources to support learning * Access to food & nutrition * Connected & healthy older adults * Disease research & support * Domestic violence assistance * Health education & prevention * Building household income & financial stability * Civic engagement & volunteerism * Disaster relief & recovery * Housing, shelter & homelessness * Revitalizing neighborhoods * Wraparound services to maintain housing & employment #### THE CARMAX FOUNDATION IS UNABLE TO SUPPORT: * Requests for the donation of vehicles * Business ventures or requests for loan or debt retirements * Organizations that limit membership, employment or services based on such attributes as race, color, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, and/or citizenship.

* Organizations that conflict with the CarMax Auto Superstores, Inc., mission, goals, programs, or products * Fraternal, athletic, or social clubs * Labor and political organizations or campaigns * Requests for capital campaigns, endowments, event sponsorships, or scholarships * Organizations categorized by the IRS as a church, convention, or association of churches
