Home Rehab & Assistance Programs | City of Dearborn Department of Economic Development The Department of Economic Development offers several programs to assist residents and business owners, such as flood relief, home rehabilitation, property maintenance, and porch and sidewalk repair, among many others.
Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds Program Information & Eligibility The Home Rehabilitation Program (HRP) is a comprehensive program that assists low and moderate-income owner-occupants in rehabilitating their homes. Applicants must have owned and occupied a one-family Dearborn residence for at least one year. A zero-interest deferred mortgage will be recorded against the property for a maximum of 20 years.
Examples of eligible repairs include: Roof replacement, aluminum/vinyl siding, gutters & downspouts Plumbing repair & furnace/water heater replacement, major sewer repairs Porch and step repairs, concrete replacement (Code Violation required) Garage demolition/removal, lead hazard reduction, Repair of defective doors, windows, storms Note: This is a sample of eligible items.
