HOPE SF Small Grants Program is sponsored by HOPE SF (in partnership with The San Francisco Foundation and Enterprise Community Partners). This program supports proposals that promote quality education, improve the quality of life for residents, and increase opportunities for residents to grow their income and wealth building.

Phillip Randolph Institute | Hunters View The Only Loud Squad Entrepreneurship Program is a resident-led project by Reyann Alcala, with the goal of creating economic opportunities for the community. The Entrepreneurship Program received a grant for monthly entrepreneurship classes sharing skills in printing, design creation, and small business management.

A project of DooDa Activities | Alice Griffith DooDa Right Thing is a resident-led project by Vannoy McCree, encouraging Hope SF youth to develop community engagement and access spaces dedicated to health and wellness. DooDa Right Thing received a grant for weekly youth-centered events, bringing Hope SF youth and families together to celebrate movement, community, and giving back.

Loyal Butterflies Women Wellness Empowerment Program Inc A project of The Good Rural | Sunnydale The Loyal Butterflies Women Wellness Empowerment Program is a resident-led community-based organization founded by La`Jeana S. Thompson—born and raised in the Sunnydale Public Housing Development.

Loyal Butterflies’ mission is to motivate, inspire, empower and encourage African American women living in San Francisco Public Housing Development. A project of Community Awareness Recourse Entity | Potrero Hill Tear It Up Boxing is a resident-led project by Terrell Windom, with the goal to create spaces for residents to take care of themselves physically and mentally.

Tear It Up Boxing received a grant for weekly boxing classes that teach the art of boxing and how to channel stress through physical exercise. Spilling the Tea Quilting Project A project of the A.

Phillip Randolph Institute | Hunters View Spilling the Tea Quilting Project is a resident-led project by the Hunters View Senior Group to bring the community together by sharing their stories through quilting and build relationships by creating a quilt that symbolizes their experience living in HOPE SF.

A project of the Samoan Community Development Center | Sunnydale Feolafani Festival is a resident-centered project that culminated in hours of powerful dance performed by Pacific Islander youth from HOPE SF in celebration of music, dance, and language. Dancers demonstrated their leadership skills, developed the Festival program, and expressed their culture and art through Samoan dance and singing.

Moral Conduct, Clean and Safe Community A project of the Bayview Senior Center | Alice Griffith Moral Conduct is a resident-led project by Willie Brown, with the goal to host a clean-up day once a week to bring residents together for a shared accomplishment of improving the environment of the building in which they live.

Applicants must apply for at least one of the following funding categories: Submit proposals that support HOPE SF residents, especially the original public housing residents, to become stably housed in high-quality homes. This category also includes ideas that create space for residents to have freedom of expression through art and culture. Submit proposals focused on improving the quality of life for residents.

This category ensures that residents are healthy in mind and body, and they thrive in a safe and healthy environment where they are seen, respected, valued, and have a sense of belonging. Submit proposals that promote quality education for all—inside and outside of school (such as after school, summer school, recreational activities, etc.).

This category ensures that HOPE SF children and youth (up to 24 years of age) are growing academically and receiving training that help them build viable career skills. Submit proposals that increase opportunities for residents to grow their income and wealth building. Examples include financial management, insurance, real estate, job training, cooperative economics and investment learning opportunities.
