Prince Charitable Trusts Grants (Washington DC - District of Columbia) Prince Charitable Trusts provides operating or program grants to organizations in the DC metropolitan area. The foundation will support the following areas:</p> <li>Arts and Culture - Grants may be requested for general operating support, implementation of new initiatives or expansion of existing programs.
Applicants may include museums, art service organizations and/or performing arts centers, and professional theaters in Washington, DC.
</li> <li>Health - The Trusts operate two grant programs primarily in the District of Columbia:<b> </b>(a) Hospital Morale Programs — Support for projects designed to improve the morale of hospital and community-based medical clinic personnel, and (b)<b> </b>Community-based Clinics Program — Operating support to clinics that offer primary care to the uninsured.
</li> <li>Community and Environment - The program focuses on activities in Prince William, Loudoun, and Fauquier counties, but other areas of the Piedmont also are included, as is state-level policy advocacy and education. Grants are given for projects and programs that have a direct benefit to the long-term sustainability of the Piedmont region.
</li> <li>Emergency Services - The Trusts support agencies in the District of Columbia that provide emergency services for people who are without food, shelter, or other basic necessities. This program focuses on providing short-term, immediate needs. We do not fund longer-term, more systemic approaches to homelessness.
</li> <li>Youth - The Trusts support organizations or programs in the District of Columbia serving ages 13 - 21 that: (a) Promote competency or leadership through the arts, health, or actions that protect the environment, (b) Open doors to education. </li> <li>Other - The Trusts support professional organizations in the Trusts' areas of interest.
