House Bill 5405 Funding Grant | West Virginia Department of Education https://wvde. us/node/2846 House Bill 5405 Funding Grant Apply for HB 5405 grant funding to support math and science professional development or teacher certification. The West Virginia Department of Education is offering grant funding to county school districts under West Virginia HB 5405 (wvlegislature.
gov) . These grants support two key areas: Professional development programs – Regional Professional Learning Cadres or Teacher Leadership Networks focused on mathematics and science Teacher certification support – Resources for educators working toward full certification in their current positions. Complete the HB 5405 Grant Application Form to apply beginning October 30, 2025.
Application Window: October 30, 2025 – December 31, 2025 (4:00 p. m.) Add start date to Office365 Calendar Add start date to Google Calendar Review Period: January 1–31, 2026 Recipients Announced: February 10, 2026 Upon submission of the grant form, the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) will review the application for funding to ensure the following components are present.
If any of these items are missing, the grant will not be considered.
Overall description of the project Goals and objective of the project A budget outlining the major expenditures for both the grant amount and matching county funds Number of educators participating Hours of professional development included in the project A timeline for the grant project Expected classroom outcomes Monitoring plan for classroom implementation External evaluation plan that includes the use of both qualitative and quantitative sources If all the above elements are present in the grant application, it will be sent to the grant committee for further review.
