Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program is sponsored by City of Winston-Salem (Federal pass-through from HUD). The Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) program provides housing assistance and supportive services for low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families. The City of Winston-Salem manages HOPWA funding to support these efforts.

HOPWA is the only Federal program dedicated to addressing the housing needs of low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and their families. Grantees partner with nonprofit organizations and housing agencies to provide housing and support to these beneficiaries.
