The purpose of the Residential Rehabilitation Program is to assist low- and moderate-income homeowners with repairs to major systems such as plumbing, electric, heat and air conditioning, roof, or structural components. Federal guidelines prohibit the repairs of swimming pools, garages, fences, landscaping sprinkler systems, and other items that which are considered a luxury.

This program provides a non-performing loan to income eligible homeowners that becomes a grant after successful participation in the program.

Successful participation includes: • having a lien placed on the property by the City of Yuma for the duration of the non-performing loan (duration depends on the amount of funds spent on the project), • ensuring the home is owner occupied during the entire duration of the loan, and • providing annual loan servicing documents to the City of Yuma throughout the duration of the loan To qualify for the program, the applicant must live in the City of Yuma limits and meet HUD-defined income guidelines.

Income from all household members will be reviewed to income qualify the applicant.
