## Medical Student Education Program (MSE) Who can apply: To determine eligibility, HRSA uses the National Center for Health Workforce Analysis (NCHWA) projections1 through 2038, which indicate there are 41 states with a projected shortage of primary care physicians.

The top quartile of states with projected shortages of primary care physicians include 12 states: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. HRSA has identified accredited public, osteopathic and allopathic medical schools in the eligible states using the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

Entities with provisional or preliminary accreditation may apply if you meet the eligibility criteria and accreditation documentation requirements from LCME or COCA. Excluding schools with active MSE grants, Appendix A lists the 25 public medical schools in six states that appear eligible for this funding opportunity. Note: Grantees currently receiving MSE funding are not eligible to apply for this notice of funding opportunity.

## Grants to States to Support Oral Health Workforce Activities (SOHW) Who can apply: These types of domestic* organizations may apply:State governor-designated entities such as:The office of the state dental director. State-run university or dental school. State or special district government, including the District of Columbia, domestic territories, and freely associated states.

We encourage states to work with tribal entities to facilitate greater coordination between states and tribal governments. We will only accept one application per state. All states are eligible to apply.

If you are a current recipient with a period of performance ending on August 31, 2026, you are eligible to apply. ## Public Health Training Centers (PHTC) Program Who can apply: You can apply if you are an accredited school of public health, or another public or nonprofit private institution accredited to provide graduate or specialized training in public health.

## Nurse Education, Practice, Quality, and Retention - Transition to Practice Program (NEPQR-TPP) Who can apply: Section 801(2) defines school of nursing as an accredited (as defined in paragraph 6) collegiate, associate degree, or diploma school of nursing in a State where graduates are (A) authorized to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEXRN); or (B) licensed registered nurses who will receive a graduate or equivalent degree or training to become an advanced education nurse as defined by section 811(b).

Accredited by a national or state agency recognized by the Secretary of Education for the purposes of nursing education. You must submit official documentation of accreditation in Attachment 1 for all affiliated nursing programs. Tribes and tribal organizations may be eligible if they own and operate an accredited school of nursing.

## Nursing Workforce Development (NWD) Who can apply: Eligible organizations include accredited schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, and domestic public or private non-profit entities entities, such as state and local departments of health, faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations.

## Primary Care Dental Faculty Development Center Program (PCDFD) Who can apply: You can apply if you are an accredited school of dentistry, public or nonprofit hospital, or public or private nonprofit entity which the Secretary of Health and Human Services deems capable of carrying out this grant. You must be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) before September 1, 2026.
