Human Services Grant Program is sponsored by The Community Foundation for MetroWest. The Community Foundation for MetroWest's Human Services Grant Program awards one-time general operating grants to organizations that address challenges such as poverty, homelessness, hunger, mental illness, and lack of affordable housing in the MetroWest region.

Human Services – Community Foundation for MetroWest Strong Families , Strong Communities Together we can build strong families, create better lives, and strengthen our communities. MetroWest is known for its beauty, strong economy, and affluence. But like many suburban communities, the region has a growing number of families struggling to make ends meet.

Here in MetroWest, a range of challenges and barriers prevent families from living healthy, successful lives. This may include poverty and homelessness, hunger, mental illness, domestic violence, underemployment, lack of affordable housing, reliable transportation or age or linguistically appropriate services.

At the Foundation, we believe that building strong families and supporting our most vulnerable residents are crucial to the long-term success of our region.

2026 Grant partners notified The Community Foundation for MetroWest’s Human Services Grant Program (formerly known as Family Support) awards one-time general operating grants on an annual basis that align with our belief that equitable access to opportunities and resources is central to a strong and healthy region.

To support the delivery of high-quality clothing and necessities to homeless infants, children, and adults at the Clinton House Family Shelter and Pearl Street Family Shelter. To support one semester of free English class for 19 students to help them gain the language skills, job readiness, and cultural knowledge they need to be part of the local economy and culture.

To support the Healthy Families MA and Medical Legal Partnership programs, which provide legal and medical advice, as well as legal representation, to vulnerable MetroWest families. To support their free programs, including One-to-One Tutoring, Conversation Groups, the Career Access Lab and Beginner English Classes in Waltham.

To support the salary of the Program Director responsible for teacher credentialing mentoring workshops, the Orientation to American Culture program, assisting with the access to college program for ESL students, and the American Business Basics program. To support free, consistent mental health services to seniors struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and other mental health issues.

Thrive Support & Advocacy To support a program providing stipends to clients to cover the cost of additional supports to aging parents (aged 60+) of adult children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). To support the salary of a Part-Time Program Manager to enable the organization to expand its reach and provide free access to period protection to more women and girls in the MetroWest.

To support the continuation and expansion of their citizenship services in the MetroWest region, including two workshops in 2020 that will serve approximately 200 MetroWest residents. MAB Community Services, Inc. To support the integration of improvements for older adults with vision loss into MetroWest age-friendly initiatives, starting in Framingham. RIA House, Inc. — Ready.

Inspire. Act To support targeted branding and development activities with the goal of increasing RIA House’s visibility and fundraising potential. Asperger/Autism Network, Inc. To support two support groups and general education for parents of children/teens with ASD who are also dealing with gender identity issues.

MetroWest Mediation Services, Inc. To support free mediation services to landlords and tenants in Concord, Framingham and Natick District Courts, which help tenants create workable arrangements with landlords to stay in their homes and avoid homelessness. To support general operating needs to support the salary and benefits of attorneys providing direct legal services to low-income, elderly and disabled clients in civil legal matters.

South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) To support Voices Against Violence’s Community Based Advocacy (CBA) Program serving over 5,500 people in the MetroWest seeking support to overcome situations of domestic violence. To support programming and services that help their resident families move toward independent, successful futures and improve academic, employment, financial, and life outcomes.

Fresh Start Furniture Bank To support general operating needs as they work to provide free furniture and home goods to people in need. To support their Cooking Up A Career culinary training program for unemployed and/or underemployed young adults with disabilities in the MetroWest area.

To support the Credential to Career Coaching program for homeless and low-income families in MetroWest to access reliable information and resources to identify and enter careers that can increase income and allow them to build assets.

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network To support the advancement of their current records system by hiring a consultant to rebuild their comprehensive assessment tool, allowing for ongoing evaluation and more efficient and accurate reporting for their behavioral health clients.

To support the creation and delivery of mental health support and psycho-education for Spanish Speaking Immigrant parents, specifically regarding the challenges of reuniting with a child or children after separation. To support salary increases for the dedicated staff providing tutoring programming to people in need, immigrants, and persons of low literacy.

Minuteman Senior Services To support their new LGBTQ+ Outreach Initiative, providing culturally-competent aging-support services for hundreds of LGBTQ+ seniors and caregivers. To support general operating for WATCH CDC’s efforts in affordable housing, providing adult education, and empowering underrepresented residents in Waltham.

Catholic Charities of Worcester County To support a new program to help unemployed or underemployed Milford residents with job seeking, placement, and skills-building programming. REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, Inc. To support their Community-Based Advocacy (CBA) program for survivors of domestic violence.
