Since 2014, Nova Ukraine has run a variety of successful humanitarian projects in Ukraine. Since 2022 to date, we have raised over $180 million and have helped over 12 million Ukrainians with an operating expense percentage in single digits.

"Tysyachovesna" (Thousand-Spring) is a $90 million initiative from Ukraine's Ministry of Culture, launched in April 2026 to fund competitive Ukrainian work in film, music, theater, animation, and visual arts. It's also the first joint project under the Memorandum of Cooperation Nova Ukraine signed with the Ministry in June.

Our support funds the work of over 180 independent experts who help evaluate every project applying for the program. Together, we’re putting the focus on incredible Ukrainian artists. We’re proud to help Ukrainian kids think about the planet and shine a spotlight on their creativity.

Nova Ukraine is proud to have supported the EcoFilm Festival, bringing together film screenings, lectures, and master classes, all shaping ecological thinking for the next generation. The festival took place in MC6 Residence in Slavske, Lviv region.

Highlights included a two-day youth intensive where kids shot and presented their own documentary about nature, and a talk from Michael van Burke, who has run an eco-festival in Germany for over 20 years. Vechornytsi is how Ukrainian villages have gathered for centuries: food, music, and community around one table. As the Ukrainian school year begins, countless children have no physical spaces to attend school.

So Nova Ukraine, with the support of Howard G. Buffett Foundation, hosts children at Zmistovno Children's Centers across the country. These centers help children catch up on learning disrupted by war.

Kids develop skills in IT, robotics, languages, and creative fields. They rebuild social connections and adapt to new communities after displacement. Zmistovno centers also provide a stable, well-equipped learning environment with autonomous heating and backup power sources.

We run 53 centers nationwide. Since 2023, Zmistovno sites have welcomed more than 2 million kids! Veronika is a 17-year-old Ukrainian refugee who hasn't seen her older brother Vitaly in years because he's been fighting Russia on the front lines of the war.

They weren't expecting to be reunited, but thanks to a program called "Iron Squad" supported in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, they've been brought together again. Your support makes reunions like this happen.
