org Hunger Grants, funded by parish Rice Bowl collections and the Catholic Courier's Christmas Appeal, and Catholic Campaign for Human Development Grants, which fund community organizations that address the root causes of poverty through systemic change and training those living in poverty to speak for themselves. Hunger Relief Grants are distributed to churches and non-profits who provide food aid during the holiday season.

Hunger Relief Grant Application Guidelines for Hunger Relief Grants Catholic Campaign for Human Development Grants The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) funds community organizations that address the root causes of poverty through systemic change and training those living in poverty to speak for themselves. There are two tracks for CCHD funding: Community Development and Economic Development.

Community Development refers to organizing low-income people to address systemic change in the community. Economic Development grants fund community-based organizations and businesses that create good jobs and just workplaces, and they develop assets for low-income people that are owned by families and communities. These projects coincide with the CCHD mission by their commitment to the development of low-income people.

All Economic Development Projects have structures that promote low income leadership and ownership. CCHD offers local grants as well. We support organizations in Monroe Country that are doing similar community development work.

We often support groups that are not ready to apply for the national grant or whose national grant has been completed. Please download the attached CCHD guidelines and application form. Monroe County CCHD Grants Information regarding the national grants is available at usccb.

org We offer local support and information for JustFaithMinistries, providing a variety of programs that use a small-group model to help individuals expand their understanding of Catholic social teaching and grow in faith the original JustFaith program, shorter modules on justice topics Good News People, a new program for adult evangelization Hundreds of adults in parishes throughout the Diocese of Rochester have completed the JustFaith justice formation program, changing their lives and bringing renewed vigor to their parish social ministry programs.

The commitment to this vision and to JustFaith requires hard work, and reaps great rewards. Group members meet weekly, sharing conversation and prayer about issues that are raised in the books they read, the videos and speakers they learn from together, and their own life experiences and spiritual journeys. In addition to the adult formation program, JustFaith Ministries offers other program options: JustMatters : 6-8 week modules on a variety of justice issues. The Engaging Spirituality program is "a spiritual journey for small groups that explores the connection between prayerful presence and social action." The JusticeWalking program is designed for high school juniors and seniors.

Good News People is an exciting new "fourteen-session program (seven sessions, break, seven sessions) designed for multiple small groups (ideally 10 groups of 10 participants) within a parish. The program is a dynamic process engaging sacred. scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, readings and reflections, and Church teaching.
