Illinois American Water is committed to environmental stewardship and community-based support. In collaboration with the American Water Charitable Foundation, the Hydration Station Grant Program helps expand access to safe, reliable tap water to hydrate immediately or refill personal, reusable bottles.
This program will award bottle-filling stations to select eligible organizations located within Illinois American Water’s service territory. Applicants must be registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity and provide public access to the bottle filling station, or a K-12 public school, college, or university.
To focus our giving, there are projects and organizations the American Water Charitable Foundation doesn’t fund- this includes individuals, government entities such as townships or municipalities, faith-based and religious organizations such as churches, synagogues, mosques, and other organizations that automatically qualify for 501(c)(3) status as a church. Exceptions to public charity status may occur on a limited basis.
We are pleased to offer assistance to community partners to help make a positive impact on the environment, and we encourage you to apply if you meet the criteria outlined above.
