EV charging incentives in Idaho - AMPECO EV charging incentives in Idaho Last updated: March 25, 2025 Currently, all NEVI (National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure) funding has been frozen by the new administration until further notice. Contracts for approved projects that have already been signed will still receive funding, but for projects that were approved but not yet signed, it is highly likely that they will not receive funding.
This has created significant uncertainty for stakeholders in the electric vehicle infrastructure sector, as many had been anticipating the funds to move forward with their projects. The future of these approvals remains unclear, depending on the administration’s review and potential changes to its priorities.
The Idaho Transportation Department, Governor’s Office of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Department of Environmental Quality have announced the launch of the Idaho National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, with the first Request for Qualifications (RFQ) now open. This first round focuses on three priority locations: Pocatello, Bliss, and Lewiston.
The deadline for submitting qualifications is February 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM (Mountain Time). Interested applicants should attend a pre-application meeting on January 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM (Mountain Time) to discuss the RFQ and NEVI program details.
