We eagerly work alongside like-minded organizations that share our common values. New Focus Areas for Grantmaking The IMA Foundation empowers communities by supporting nonprofit organizations whose missions focus on workforce development, financial literacy, and emergency preparedness. These priorities guide all grantmaking efforts.

The Foundation funds organizations whose core work aligns with: Workforce Development in Post-Secondary Education, Financial Literacy, and Emergency Preparedness & Response. Eligible nonprofits must operate in communities where IMA has a meaningful presence. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits aligned with the Foundation’s priority areas and serving IMA communities.

Spring Cycle: deadline April 6, 2026. Fall Cycle: opens August; deadline October 5. Average grant sizes are $5,000 to $20,000.

Grantees may be required to submit final and interim reports outlining outcomes and use of funds. Funding does not support individuals or programs outside the three priority areas. The IMA Foundation does not fund religious or political organizations.

IMA Foundation supports nonprofit organizations focused on creating economic stability and strengthening community resilience across the U.S. Our funding is concentrated in three strategic areas and will have preference for underserved populations: We invest in post-secondary training, education that directly move individuals into middle-to-high-wage careers and self-sufficiency.

Post-secondary education and training must be central to the mission of the organization. We focus exclusively on institutions whose primary, organizational mission is workforce development. We are unable to consider industry-specific training initiatives housed within organizations dedicated to other primary causes (e.g., the arts, animal welfare, or specialized professional associations).

Additionally, only organizations open to the general public versus programs designed for specific groups of individuals are considered. Focus : Programs offered by technical schools, community colleges, universities, or accredited institutions. Goal : Provide advanced training, certifications and vocational skills for high-demand careers.

We support organizations that enhance financial knowledge of individuals and families with a preference for underserved populations. Financial literacy must be central to the mission of the organization. Focus : Education on budgeting, saving, debt management, and understanding risk management.

Goal : Measurable improvements in financial stability for low-to-moderate-income households. 3. Emergency Preparedness & Response We fund efforts centered on natural disaster preparedness and long-term recovery.

Disaster preparedness and recovery must be central to the mission of the organization. Focus : Building community capacity for mitigation, readiness, and sustained economic recovery from specific natural hazards (e.g., floods, wildfires). Exclusion : We do not fund general emergency response, food, or immediate shelter services.

The IMA Foundation hosts recreational events in several markets to raise funds, foster community engagement, and develop business relationships.
