Immigrant Justice Legal Services Grant (IJLS)

Immigrant Justice Legal Services Grant (IJLS) is sponsored by DC Mayor's Office on Latino Affairs (MOLA). The Immigrant Justice Legal Services Grant (IJLS) funds programs that provide targeted services and resources to the DC immigrant population. It offers one-time grants to CBOs with 501(c)(3) status, as well as private organizations, associations, and law firms that mobilize pro bono talent for immigrant justice legal services.

► OPEN Requests for Applications (RFA) MOLA’s Grants Department aims to support the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate services to improve the lives of the District’s Latino community. To accomplish its goals, MOLA’s Grants Department has created a set of grant programs to offers one-time grants to CBOs with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status located in the District of Columbia.

Programs supported through MOLA’s grants shall be focused on the following priority areas: Education (all ages), Workforce Development, Economic Development, Housing Services, Civic Engagement, Legal Services, Crisis Intervention, and Arts, Culture and Humanities.

Latino Community Development Grant program (LCDG) The Latino Community Development Grant Program offers one-time grants of up to $50,000 to CBOs with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status located in the District of Columbia.

The grant is intended to enhance Latino-serving programs focused on Education (all ages), Workforce Development, Economic Development, Housing Services, Civic Engagement, Legal Services, Crisis Intervention, and Arts, Culture and Humanities. The target population for these funds is Latino individuals of all ages who reside in the District of Columbia and/or business owners in the District of Columbia.

Eligible organizations: Be a Community-Based Organization with a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or evidence of fiscal agent relationship with a 501 (c)(3) organization; the organization or program serves the District’s Latino residents; or business owners the organization’s principal place of business is located in the District of Columbia; the organization is currently registered in good standing with the DC Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs, Corporation Division, and the Office of Tax and Revenue; Current grantees must be current on any reporting obligations.

Immigrant Justice Legal Services Grant (IJLS) The Immigrant Justice Legal Services Grant (IJLS) is intended to fund programs that provide targeted services and resources to the DC immigrant population.

The IJLS program offers one-time grants of up to $150,000 to CBOs with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status, as well as private organizations, associations and law firms that plan to mobilize pro bono talent in order to provide immigrant justice legal services.

Immigrants of all ages who reside in the District of Columbia; families of mixed-status with at least one family member in the District of Columbia; and/or immigrant business owners in the District of Columbia.

Eligible organizations: Be a Community-Based Organization with a with a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or evidence of fiscal agent relationship with a 501 (c)(3) organization; or be a private entity that is partnering with a 501 (c)(3) organization; or be a private entity that is mobilizing pro bono legal services; serve the DC immigrant population; be currently registered in good standing with the DC Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs, Corporation Division, and the Office of Tax and Revenue; and conduct the program activities in the District of Columbia.

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) The Summer Youth Employment Program is a partnership between the Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs (MOLA) and the Departement of Employment Services (DOES).

The grant is intended to provide District of Columbia youth ages 14-24 with meaningful and structured summer experience and career readiness opportunities and services with a variety of community-based partners for the duration of the SYEP.

In addition the SYEP program intents to Provide youth (ages 14-24) with meaningful and structured career readiness opportunities and services with a variety of community based partners for the duration of the SYEP; Provide a safe, positive environment that will allow youth to develop the necessary skills and training needed to be employable in the future; and expose youth to different career options and motivate them to stay in school to pursue these careers through interactive, hands-on career development activities and supportive services.

Youth ages 14-24 bona fide residents of the District of Columbia.

Eligible Organizations: Applicants must meet all of the following conditions: Be a Community-Based Organization with a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or evidence of fiscal agent relationship with a 501 (c)(3) organization; the organization or program serves the District’s Latino residents; or business owners the organization’s principal place of business is located in the District of Columbia; the organization is currently registered in good standing with the DC Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs, Corporation Division, and the Office of Tax and Revenue; Current grantees must be current on any reporting obligations.
