Learn more about our approach to connect neighborhood stakeholders, organizations, and systems as we work together to build a stronger Chicago region. 2026 Impact Grants Update United Way of Metro Chicago is preparing for the next cycle of our Impact Grants program, with funding set to begin in January 2026. For this cycle, we will proceed with a closed and shortened application process, open only to current Impact Grant partners.
While this cycle is closed to new applicants, funding decisions will remain competitive and based on available resources. This approach reflects the strong outcomes we’ve seen from our existing partnerships and insights from local and national data on the evolving social services landscape.
We remain committed to addressing basic needs and long-term community well-being through holistic, wraparound services – especially in neighborhoods with the highest need and greatest opportunity.
