A company’s ability to retain workers, grow and prosper can be compromised. Florida’s Incumbent Worker Training grants can help. The program provides grants for continuing education and training of current full-time employees at Florida companies.

With a focus on helping Florida’s small businesses, the grants reimburse companies up to 75 percent for pre-approved training costs. Companies choose their training provider based on the skills needed. Applying online is easy and approval is quick.

Increased Competitiveness Increased Job Opportunities Industry-Recognized Credentials Targeted Training Services Companies can be reimbursed for employee training that’s focused on industry or business-specific skills, technical or computer skills, or foundational such as leadership, teamwork and management.

Preference may be given to training that represents significant skills upgrades for employees and/or the greatest potential for impacting the business’ competitiveness. ” – Rick Stickney, Special Projects Manager Most companies that apply for funding will be eligible for reimbursement of up to 50 percent of their direct training costs . Companies that meet specific criteria, like having 25 or fewer employees or those located in a rural area/county, distressed area, brownfield or hub zone may be eligible for reimbursement of up to 75 percent.

If a company has more than one location in the state of Florida, operating under different Federal Employer Identification Numbers (FEIN), each location will be considered as a separate company and may submit separate grant applications and receive separate awards.
