They convene tribes and subject matter experts, inform more equitable energy policies, advise energy planning and development, and build in-community capacity to develop, finance, and operate tribally owned renewable energy systems.
The Indigenous Power and Light Fund is aligned with Inflation Reduction Act funding and will aid tribes in surmounting significant barriers standing between them and the implementation of clean energy projects.
Focused on expediting the advancement of tribal clean energy initiatives by covering critical pre-development expenses, the Fund aims to fast-track tribal clean energy projects by financing upfront costs not addressed by federal funding. This award provides general operating support to Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy (ATCE).
