Innovate Grants for Artists and Photographers is a grant from NEFA (New England Foundation for the Arts) that funds individual visual artists and photographers through quarterly cash awards of $1,800 each. Two grants are distributed per quarter — one to a visual artist and one to a photographer — with four grant cycles annually: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

The grants support creative development and innovative artistic work, and the application process is designed to be simple so applicants spend less time on paperwork. Awards were recently increased to $1,800. Individual visual artists and photographers nationwide are eligible to apply.

The Winter 2026 cycle is currently open for submissions.
