Innovative Teaching Grants

Innovative Teaching Grants is sponsored by Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation. These grants support innovative and exciting educational programs for students in Las Cruces Public Schools, enhancing the learning environment and inspiring achievement. Grants fall under categories such as STEM, student-centered technology, and educational field trips.

Innovative Teaching Grants – Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation is proud to support outstanding educators in the quest for excellence in our classrooms. Through Teacher/Classroom Grants, the Foundation is encouraging educators to devise innovative and exciting educational programs for their students that enhance the learning environment and inspire students to greater achievement and success.

Teachers, principals, school administrators, social workers, counselors, ancillary staff can apply for grants (through an on-line portal) that benefit individual classrooms, or their entire school community. Grants range from $200 – $4,999. Grants fall under many categories such as Agriculture/Horticulture, the Arts, Literacy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Student-centered technology and Educational Field Trips.

In the fall of 2025 Eleven Innovative Grants were awarded totaling $28,072. 33. Congratulations 2025 Innovative Grant Recipients Grant application released - Click Here Grant application deadline Applications are encouraged from all disciplines.

However, science, literacy and mathematics are encouraged. Any LCPS educator that works with students on a daily basis may apply. This includes teachers of all disciplines, social workers, counselors, librarians, ancillary personnel, and administrators.

Grant funds are approved for: classroom/school projects, classroom materials and educational field trips. Grant funds will not be considered for professional development projects, salaries, stipends, printers, ink/toner, technology for staff, or educator travel expenses. Recipients must be willing to have their names, information & photos used for news media & website publicity.

All awards are given at the discretion of the LCPS Foundation Board of Directors. Should an employee change positions from the original position (in which the grant was intended), funds would revert to the Foundation and the grant would be null and void. You must complete a Year End Report to include a narrative, budget and your receipts.

First, thank you for supporting my classroom! For being a first year teacher it has been difficult to get the supplies I need. By your generous donation I was able to get a much needed easel for my students and I to use for writing.
