Grants Available for Implementing and Supporting Open Education Resources | Department of Public Instruction Manage ConnectEd Subscription Media Contacts and Resources Wisconsin Education Calendar Wisconsin Public School Observance Days DPI-ConnectEd Stories Archive Grants Available for Implementing and Supporting Open Education Resources Wednesday, May 8, 2019 - 12:00 am The Department of Public Instruction will award 20 grants of $10,000 each to support implementation and professional learning around high-quality, standards-aligned open education resources (OER).
This round of grants is focused on mathematics, English language arts, and science instructional materials and professional learning. OER materials are those that can be used freely, distributed, and even modified, and usually carry a Creative Commons license .
The grant supports efforts linked to the use of OER materials, addressing at least one of the following areas: Creation of professional learning and support for high-quality, standards-aligned instructional OER and curricula (as defined by reliable third-party projects like EdReports. org or the Instructional Materials Evaluation Tool (IMET).
Implementation of instructional materials that are high-quality and standards-aligned (as defined by reliable third-party projects like EdReports. org or IMET ). In order to build knowledge and capacity of educators throughout Wisconsin, all professional learning and other materials which are developed or curated through these grants will be made available on the DPI WISELearn Resources Library .
Applications are scored based on collaboration, number of resources, sustainability, impact, and other factors. In addition to teacher participation, support from curriculum, technology, and administrative leadership must be present. All educator participants must be based in Wisconsin.
Applications are due June 10, 2019. Grants will be awarded in August 2019. For more information, including access to the grant application, visit the DPI OER Innovation Grants web page .
