Submit feedback Intercity Bus Security Grants The motorcoach industry continually strives to improve the safety and security of bus operations.
Over the past few years, enhancing motorcoach security has become a key issue for all operators and a priority issue for the nation as a whole as motorcoaches visit nearly all of our nation’s historic landmarks, pass along or through much of our critical infrastructure, and transport nearly 600 million passengers.
Since 2003, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded more than $120 million in grants to the motorcoach industry through the Intercity Bus Security Grant Program (IBSGP). The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released the FY 2025 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) Announcement for the Intercity Bus Security Grant Program (IBSGP) as well as other Preparedness Grant Programs.
August 1/4: FEMA Announces FY 2025 Grant Applications Now Open August 15: Grant Applications Due September 30 : Anticipated program awards Please visit FEMA’s website for information regarding this funding opportunity and additional resource documents. Applications must be submitted via the FEMA Grant Outcomes portal . All completed grant applications must be submitted online. Program Application Guidance , click on “related documents” Cost match : 50% required Eligibility : Bus Operators providing either regular fixed route trips or at least 50 charter trips (annually) into designated Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) regions.
Requirement : Must have completed a vulnerability assessment and security plan in the past 3 years and include a verification statement in your application (see bottom of page for template examples) Each application may contain up to 2 investment justifications or projects.
