International Curriculum Development Grants

International Curriculum Development Grants is sponsored by Center for the Study of Global Change, Indiana University. Promotes curriculum internationalization and encourages the incorporation of global learning outcomes by offering grants to develop new undergraduate or graduate courses or substantially revise existing courses to include significant international content.

Faculty + Staff Grants: Research: Center for the Study of Global Change: Indiana University *Due to anticipated reductions in grant funds awarded to the Center for the Study of Global Change as a federally designated National Resource Center for International Studies, this program is currently on pause and we are not accepting applications at this time.

* The Center for the Study of Global Change offers two competitive grants for Indiana University employees to enhance global learning across IU. The deadlines for both grants are rolling. Applicants should be full-time faculty or staff.

Students are ineligible to apply. International Curriculum Development Grants The Center for the Study of Global Change promotes curriculum internationalization and encourages the incorporation of global learning outcomes in teaching and learning.

The Global Center offers a limited number of Curriculum Development Grants each year to develop new undergraduate or graduate courses or substantially revise existing courses to include significant international content.

All faculty are eligible to apply, though courses which are broadly international and promote interdisciplinary collaboration among professional schools, academic departments and/or area studies programs are particularly encouraged. Applications are accepted and reviewed year round.

Please include the following data in the application: Discussion of the proposed course topic Proposed disciplines, departments, schools, or fields Intended student level (undergraduate or graduate, 100-700, etc.) Likely semester the new or revised course will be offered for the first time Global learning outcomes addressed in the course and planned means of assessment ( global teaching resources ) Include applicant's current C. V.

and a supporting letter from department or program chair. Include a budget if expenses will be incurred. Faculty and Staff Travel Grants The Global Center has limited funds to assist faculty and staff members with travel to present papers at academic conferences or for Center-related activities.

Papers or presentations should be on global or international topics in any field. Awards average $500 and can be used either for domestic or international travel. For international travel, the Global Center must also receive permission from the U.S. Department of Education.

Therefore, grant recipients must provide their travel information to the Global Center prior to ticket purchase and at least forty-five days in advance of departure. All flights must adhere to the Fly America Act and Open Skies agreements . Hotel costs must adhere to U.S. federal rates .

To apply for a Travel Grant, please write to global@iu. edu with the purpose of your travel including the title of your presentation, a brief budget outlining anticipated travel costs, and your planned itinerary. There is no formal application form, and applications are accepted and reviewed year round.
