Training adult volunteers in global leadership skills "Slow, quiet growth leads to deep roots" We believe those who have survived hunger, abuse, and many other challenges both mental and physical possess a very special drive and compassion.

When these two things are combined with the leadership skills we teach at IHF, these survivors make a positive impact on everyone from their local community to their entire country as they “Pass It On”. One of the tools IHF has always used to do this is “People-Person-Stories”. This program gives us a chance to honestly yet safely share our painful realities and the lessons we’ve learned from them, without shame—as well as sharing joy.

We do this in small groups and teams as well as through podcasts and in person. From our Pass It On initiative to our People-Person-Stories program, everything we do supports our core belief of slow, quiet growth with deep roots.

IHF believes in life’s global symphony of learning and sharing, and although this learning takes patience and practice, it causes children and adults worldwide to flourish—and creates our magnificent leaders of tomorrow. Every child in IHF takes the ‘Pass It On’ vow seriously as they grow up—and adult IHF students do their best to extend that legacy and bring their good fortune to the next generation as well.

Our IHF volunteers also pass on their life blessings, teaching and sharing with children who may not otherwise have access to quality education, nutrition and safe housing. The IHF Center in Thailand is situated on the outskirts of Chiang Rai. Our center works with the indigenous Hill Tribe people living in the tumultuous borderlands between Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), and Laos, and extending as far as China and Vietnam.

IHF has been working in Kenya since the late 1990’s with the marginalized tribes in East Pokot and impoverished children in Nakuru. This safe home offers care to orphaned youth and children whose parents are unable to support them due to extreme levels of poverty. IHF Bali operates an Education Center in Buitan Village, Manggis, Bali, located approximately 2 hours away from Denpasar, Indonesia.

IHF operates an Education Center in the Indonesian city of Medan. The IHF Medan Center has the highest number of students attending classes on a regular basis. The IHF Jakarta Center is located in an eastern suburb of Indonesia’s Capital City.
