INL will support work that builds investigative and enforcement capacity, strengthens legislative frameworks, provides judicial and prosecutorial assistance, and develop capacity for cross-border law enforcement cooperation.
For example, activities may include training, mentoring, and possibly the provision of non-lethal equipment for park rangers, police, prosecutors, other relevant officials and, where applicable, non-governmental and civil society entities to address the multi-faceted dimensions of poaching and wildlife trafficking. To support further progress in sub-Saharan Africa, the U.S. Department of State has allocated $5,000,000.
