Internship Grants - California Press Foundation The California Press Foundation's Internship Grant Program provides direct financial support to promising students pursuing careers in journalism and news media. Each recipient receives a $3,000 stipend and joins a year-long cohort that provides access to mentorship, resources, training and a supportive professional network.
Through its Internship Grant Program, CPF has helped over 200 emerging journalists gain the experience and opportunities needed to launch successful careers. Former CPF-supported interns have gone on to work at leading news outlets, including CalMatters, CNN, the Los Angeles Times, KQED, Politico, Renaissance Journalism, the San Francisco Chronicle and The New York Times.
In 2026, CPF awarded $21,000 in internship grant funding to seven emerging journalists. CPF's 2027 Internship Grant application will open October 2026 . Eligible student journalists are encouraged to apply .
Membership with CPF is free and connects you with a network of people who believe in journalism and the power of local news.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students. The grant supports the purchase of robotics equipment and program development aligned with AMSTI guidelines. Applications are submitted online through the AMSTI Robotics Grant portal.
