Internships and Crime Prevention - Nebraska Department of Economic Development Internships and Crime Prevention The Internships and Crime Prevention Program will award grants for the purpose of creating a program that will be administered by a nonprofit organization partnering with a city of the metropolitan class to provide both internships and crime prevention within qualified census tracts located within the boundaries of such city.
What Can the Grants Be Used for? The Internships and Crime Prevention Program grant funds must be used for the sole purpose of creating a program to provide both internships and crime prevention in a QCT of metropolitan class located within the boundaries of the State of Nebraska. Please refer to the map of the Nebraska Qualified Census Tracts below.
Who is Eligible to Apply? Nonprofit organization partnering with a city of the metropolitan class for the purpose of providing internships and crime prevention within qualified census tracts located within the boundaries of such city. Qualified Census Tract: A QCT is defined in 26 U.S.C.
42(d)(5)(B)(ii)(I), as such section existed on January 1, 2022. Nonprofit: Pursuant to the Supplementary Information promulgated with 31 C. F.
R. Part 35 the definition of nonprofit includes 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(19) organizations. Crime Prevention: Comprises strategies and measures that seek to reduce the risk of crimes occurring, and their potentially harmful effects on individuals and society, including fear of crime, by intervening to influence their multiple causes.
Internships: Defined as the position of a student or trainee who works in an organization to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification. Partnership with the city : Defined as An organization listed in the City of Omaha’s 2022 budget as a recipient of the Mayor's Community Services Fund; or An organization that has received a signed memorandum of support by the City of Omaha dated on or after September 1, 2022.
Internships and Crime Prevention Open Date - 11/3/2022 9:00 AM Central Standard Time Close Date - 11/14/2022 5:00 PM Central Standard Time Letter of Intent: October 31, 2022 5:00 p. m. Central Time Anticipated Award Date: November 2022 Period of Performance: Funds must be expended by June 30, 2025.
Up to $3,000,000 in FY 2022-2023 Up to $3,000,000 in FY 2023-2024 There is no formal match requirement. Award Amount: Grants may be awarded up to the amount allocated by the Legislature. DED reserves the right to partially fund any request.
