G. Hawkins Memorial Fund will award new grants in 2026. Please reach out to a member of East Tennessee Foundation’s Grantmaking Team for information about the 2026 grant cycle.
Organizations can apply for amounts between $10,000 – $20,000. The Dr. J. G.
Hawkins Memorial Fund was established in 2011. The purpose of the fund is to provide medical care and treatment for residents in rural Greene County, TN who are underserved, uninsured, or underinsured, especially children. Click here for General Eligibility and Funding Criteria .
Additional eligibility criteria specific to the Dr. J. G. Hawkins Memorial Fund: Projects must exclusively benefit Greene County residents.
Organizations must propose a project that will support and provide medically-related transportation to rural residents of Greene County, or Organizations must propose a project that will bring traveling clinical or medical services to underserved rural areas of Greene County on a temporary or intermittent basis. Organizations are not required to reside in Greene County in order to be eligible to apply.
